  • Nice car own and fun to drive

Consider this a 2017 spaceship that is tethered to the ground by 4 rubber tires. The console is sapceshipish and front seats are comfortable. All the bells and whistles to keep you connected to the electronic world. Back up camera is better than my other cars. Traded the Mercedes E430 for this and Im free of going to the gas station once a week.
  • My new favorite vehicle no doubt

The Volt has completely blown away my expectations it is such a sleeper. I was expecting a nice ride from the reviews but the level of comfort, performance and out right fun driving experience I wasnt expecting at all. For a small car, this car has a big car feel in that it smooths out potholes like a Cadillac but still has pretty decent handling, no its not a Corvette but the low center of gravity from the battery placement makes it feel planted to the road. It is so quiet too that its just nice to drive around listening to music and since it doesnt cost much to drive there is no guilt for wasted gas. I purchased the LT with heated seats added and a little extra for red paint but with all the rebates it was a steal. The cloth seats are comfortable but the leather does feel better with softer pressure points on the seat edge to the back of the legs. Also, the blind spot monitoring is a great feature I wish I had on mine after doing some city driving since there are pretty big blind spots on the passenger and driver side rear corner. This is such a great car! I absolutely love it.
  • Best looking Plug in Hybrid

Bought this car because I am not ready to take the 100% electric car plunge. This is the best compromise for that purpose. I did take a look at the Honda clarity but that is one ugly car. The volt is clearly the best looking Plug in Hybrid and looks better than all the other hybrids also. The car rides way better than the Prius or my older 2015 Civic with far better acceleration than the Civic or the Prius. When the Volt switches from electric to the gas motor, I could not tell when it happened. While in gas with the battery depleted normal driving performance seemed the same, except after 250 miles of gas driving I hit a 6% grade for about 2 miles and the gas engine RPMS increased a lot and the extra thrust I was used to fell off and could only do 55Mph comfortably. Yesterday I took it up a 7% grade in mountain mode with a full battery and it did not even work hard. During the climb a Jeep and a chevy truck tried to stay up wit me and they did not have a chance. I thought the Jeep's engine was about to blow when he down shifted to stay with me. The altitude had no affect on the volt. Coming back down the mountain I used the regenerative brake paddle and it slowed me down and charged the battery and gave me an extra mile of battery charge. The climb was from 4000ft to 8800ft. I don't like that wimpy 120volt home charging cord, it is to slow, 19 hrs to charge a depleted battery with 120v/8 amps and 13 hrs to fully charge at 120v/12 amps. I am getting a 220v charging system ASAP. Nuff Said.
